You cannot study the New Testament or the world of the earliest Christians very long without realizing how steeped they are in Israel’s Scriptures, and especially the book of Isaiah. Within Isaiah, the central section chapters 40–55 constitutes an extraordinary poem. Into the Heart of Isaiah puts these chapters in sharp focus. Watch this talk from N. T. Wright on his new book "Into the Heart of Isaiah: The Meaning and Message of Isaiah 40-55" which introduces the central part of the book of Isaiah and its implications for understanding the mission of Jesus.
